Traditional Camargue Outfits

Camargue Gardian Outfit
For 600 years in Camargue, the gardians have been the guardians of the “manades”, places where Camargue bulls and horses are bred.
The brand Vincent et Mireille, whose name refers to the poem Mirèio by writer Frédéric Mistral, is a historic brand that has dressed these gardians for several generations.
Today, Vincent et Mireille Camargue gardian clothing is intended for both men and women, and even offers models for children, future guardians of the gardian tradition.
Originally in traditional moleskin or “taupe skin”, a very resistant fabric, the brand also offers gardian pants in stretch moleskin, which allow riders to ride more comfortably.

Raseteur Outfit
Carrying many years of history and traditions linked to the world of “bouvine”, Vincent et Mireille also manufactures raseteur clothing.
Raseteurs are top-level athletes who practice the “course camarguaise”, a very popular sport in Camargue. Athletes must catch attributes placed on a bull, called “cocardier”. This bull is raised by the gardians in the manades, which explains the strong bond uniting gardians and raseteurs around a shared passion.
Like gardians, raseteurs are subject to a very strict dress code. Their pants and shirt must be dazzling white. A distinctive feature of Vincent et Mireille raseteur pants.
