A historic brand of traditional Camargue clothing
Deeply rooted in the Camargue region, the Vincent et Mireille brand was founded in 1958 by a passionate admirer of Camargue culture and traditions. The founder chose to pay tribute to the famous poem Mirèio, written by the Provençal author Frédéric Mistral.
For nearly 50 years, Vincent et Mireille grew to provide Camargue riders with traditional garments designed and made in France.
In 2007, Vincent et Mireille was handed over to the Manufacture de Confection Le Laboureur, a company specialized in traditional French workwear manufacturing.
Thanks to the unique expertise of the seamstresses (known as “mécaniciennes de confection”) at the Digoin workshop, Le Laboureur continues to produce part of the Vincent et Mireille collection in France, including culotte skirts, waistcoats, and children’s clothing, always in strict compliance with the dress code of the Gardians.
In 2023, Vincent et Mireille remains the last brand still producing Gardian clothing in France.

Exceptional craftsmanship reflecting our commitment to tradition and its transmission
Over the years, Vincent et Mireille garments have preserved their authenticity, thanks to the preservation of the brand’s historical patterns. The Manufacture de Confection Le Laboureur also applies its know-how and technical skills to continue producing traditional clothing for the Camargue Gardians.
Some of the Vincent et Mireille range is still 100% made in France, in our Burgundy workshop. Certain garments, such as waistcoats, culotte skirts, or children’s models, require high precision and craftsmanship. This is why we have chosen to continue making them in France.
Find a distributorOur ambition: to preserve traditions around the Gardian’s traditional attire
The dress code for Gardians was officially established on April 17, 2008, by the Nacioun Gardiano and the Confrérie des Gardians de Saint-Georges, in consultation with many defenders of tradition. The goal of this codification is to glorify the Gardians’ attire, to honor the wishes of Marquis Folco de Baroncelli, and to prevent deviations during award ceremonies and other public events.
The Vincent et Mireille brand has always been committed to respecting this dress code. We produce traditional Gardian garments to honor the Marquis’ vision and to perpetuate the customs and heritage of the Camargue.
